Fishing in Looe, Cornwall

Fishing with a net in LooeLooe is renowned for its sea, lake and river fishing. Whether heading out to sea in search of sharks is what you are looking for, or, if you love nothing better than to sit by a lake and watch the world go by as you wait for the next bite, Looe has something for you...

Sea Angling

The coastal waters around South East Cornwall are renowned for its sea angling. Fishing trips can be organised for two hours, half day or a full day fishing trip. Fishing trips are normally advertised by the quay in East Looe.

Going fishing in Looe

You can also fish from the beaches and rocks along the coast. Good Rock fishing can be had at Gribben Head and Pencarrow Head, while Conger, Mackerel, Wrasse and Pollack can be caught from most beaches, particularly Cawsand, Whitsand Bay, Seaton, Downderry and Plaidy.

Looe is also home to the Shark Angling Club Of Great Britain who organise trips to fish for Blue and Porbeagle sharks.

Lake and River Fishing

There are a number of excellent course fishing lakes close to Looe and of course rivers such as the East Looe, West Looe and Fowey rivers.

The lake closest to Looe are the Bake Fishing Lakes, 8 miles away. Established in 1998, Bake Fishing Lakes have 7 separate lakes set in a 15 acres site. Lakes are richly stocked with Rainbow and Brown Trout, Rudd, Roach, Dace, Gudgeon Bream, Tench and Crucian, Mirror, Common and Ghost Carp.
