Interviews with local people in and around Looe in Cornwall
Below is a growing list of people who've taken the time to chat to us via e-mail and tell us a little bit about themselves, their work and what it's like to live and work in and around Looe.
We hope you enjoy them and do contact us if you'd like to take part.
1. Your name.
Kevin Sylvester
2. Tell us a little bit about you.
I am 33, married with two daughters and have been living in West Looe for two and half years.
3. Tell us a little about your work.
I am a senior graphic designer working for Logo Design and Marketing in Devon.
I have been working there for two years and my work involves brochure design, website design, corporate identity design, photography and illustration.
4. Are you 'going green' at work?
Yes, we are exploring a variety of ways to reduce our 'carbon footprint', including turning our computers off at night and not leaving them on standby, turning lights off when they are not required and recycling our waste.
5. What do you like about Looe?
We moved here from Newquay and immediately notice how peaceful and friendly Looe was.
6. Is anything missing from Looe?
An art gallery or exhibition space for local artists and photographers to exhibit and sell their work.
I think with funding, a property such as the vacant building next to the Riverside Church in West Looe would make a superb gallery.
7. Global warming - myth or monster?
It is my opinion that although we as humans may be contributing to global warming, the changes that we are seeing in our weather are part of a cycle that our planet goes through.
8. Pint or pizza? What do you do on a night off?
After a hard day at work I enjoy spending a quiet evening watching a DVD with the family.
Occasionally, I meet up with a couple of local friends for a pint and a chat.
9. What did you do on New Year's Eve in Looe?
Celebrated at the Sailing Club in Looe.
