In 2010 the Looe Valley Line was 150 years old. To mark this momentous milestone, the Looe Chamber of Commerce kicked off the idea of getting a Steam Train to run up and down the Looe Valley Line over a number of weekends.
The idea was to turn into a major publicity success for both Looe and the Looe Valley Line. Thousands of people traveled from all over the country to see the never to be repeated event and to travel on the train as it puffed it’s way to Liskeard from Looe train station.
I went out on a couple of the days and took some photos which you can see below. I also filmed a Steam Train video and produced a poster to mark the occasion. You
can could buy the poster (sorry, sold out) on this website or from Looe Tourist Information Centre, Larsson’s Coffee House (free tube included) or Looe Library.
There aren’t many posters remaining so be sure to snap up your copy asap as only 250 were produced and they will not be reprinted – they are a limited edition.
I hope you enjoy the photos, do let me know what you think.
