Carnglaze Caverns are quite near Looe and well worth a visit. However, apart from being an obvious tourist attraction (slate mine, fairy woodland walks, civil wedding venue, rum store etc) Carnglaze host concerts and gigs featuring local and more well known bands.
Last weekend I was lucky enough to get the offer to photograph the foot stomping local Folk-punk band from Launceston, the Crowns + support act Vince Lee & the Big Combo from Plymouth
A big thank you to Event Heads for the tickets
Carnglaze Caverns – the underground music venue
I have been to the caverns before but never to see a live music gig.
I’ve heard reports that the acoustics are amazing but I’ve also heard it’s cold and damp. I have pleasure in telling you the acoustics were suberb and that it wasn’t cold or damp. With all the people dancing around it was surprisingly warm and although we were all in a great big cave, it was completely dry.
So, if you’re thinking of coming to Looe for a break or just want to go see some live music in what has got to be one of the quirkiest venue’s in the UK, check out the events listing on the Carnglaze Caverns website.
Ofcourse, if you want to see some seriously good bands at the best live music festival in Cornwall, checkout the Looe Music Festival website. I’ll be doing a write up on this soon, so stay tuned.
