Leaving Looe

I’ve been away from Looe for my summer holiday which is why things have been a little quiet round here lately. I think it’s a good idea to leave a place for a while so you can appreciate it even more when you get back! Leaving Looe was good but coming back was better.

This year a friend of mine and I went off to climb 30 of the highest Fells in the Lake District and wild camp for seven nights in between. We did something similar a couple of years ago but this trip was in a different league. It was exhausting but in the end we climbed 34 Fells and although we haven’t totalled up the overall height we think it was close to twice the height of Everest!

Anyway, it’s nice to be back in a comfy bed, hear the seagulls and be by the sea once more. This last weekend we visited two lovely beaches near Looe, Hendersick and Lansallos. Both are stunning, off the beaten track and quiet (psst, that’s a secret between you and me). I’ll try and upload some pictures when I have sorted them out.

In the meantime, some of you may have noticed that the Looe Daily Photo has been a little quiet. I tried to maintain it while away but this became impossible so I’m back on track now with Day 155 which is a stunning sunset over Looe taken last night. Enjoy.
