Yes it’s that time again – it’s the Looe Lions Club Carnival Week.
Run by the Lions Club of Looe, Looe Carnival Week starts on Sunday July 26th and finishes on Saturday August 1st.
It’s a wonderful family event and draws thousands of visitors throughout the week from around the area every year.

Looe Lions put on a week of entertaining and family friendly events that cater for all interests and all ages.

Diary of events
Sunday 26th July
Coast and Country 11th Vintage and Classic Transport Display plus all day car boot sale at West Wayland.
Gates open for stalls from 8.00am, with side-shows, rides, demonstrations, bar and refreshments throughout the day.
* Parade of vehicles and entertainment.
* “Delta Dukes” playing Blues & Rock.
* Admission only £2.00 per Car which includes parking all day.
Monday 27th July
Carnival Royalty Choosing. Open to Children of Primary School age and resident in the Club area. Judging at 6.30pm in West Looe Square (outside the Fire Station).
Followed by:
Looe’s own Traditional Floral Dance
* Music by St. Pinnock and Liskeard Silver Bands.
* Adult and Junior Groups (of four).
* Traditional or Fancy Dress – Prizes to be won.
* Souvenir certificates for all entrants.
The Floral Dance starts from West Looe Square at 7.30pm and ends at Buller Quay, East Looe for the prize giving.
Tuesday 28th July
Street entertainment in East Looe, from 11.00am with Chucklefoot.
Annual Carnival Fun Run
Adult and Juniors plus U/13 mini fun run starts on West Looe Quay and continues through the woods!
* Entry fees = £3.00 per adult – £1.50 per person U/18.
* Medals for all finishers plus class trophies.
* Entrants’ registration from 4.30pm with the run starting at 6.30pm
Wednesday 29th July
Children’s Sand Modelling Competition on East Looe Beach
* Starts 2.30 and ends at 3.30 pm.
* Prizes.
* Entry 50p.
Sheila’s School of Dance presents “Zorra Saves the Sun” at Looe Community School 7:30 pm
Thursday 30th July
Polperro Fishermen’s Choir in Concert
* Starts 8 pm
* Venue: Lifeboat House on the sea front

Friday 31st August
Traditional seaside entertainment
* Paul Scott’s Punch and Judy Show
* Balloon modelling

Fire Station Open Day in aid of the Firemen’s Benevolent Fund.
Grand Carnival Procession
Assemble for judging at 6.00pm prompt at Marine Drive, Hannafore.
The Grand Carnival Procession Parade moves off at 7.00pm to East Looe.
