Looe magazine for January 2013 – Issue 2

Looe Magazine January 2013The latest iLoveLooe and south east cornwall magazine is now on a digital newsstand somewhere on an internet browser near you. Just click here or the magazine cover below 🙂

Issue 2 looks at Looe over the New Year and has a couple of feature spreads with images of the fireworks and folks in fancy dress. The great thing about the magazine is that I can show all the images nice and big, so let me know what you think.

Looe MagazineThe January magazine also takes a look at New Year Resolutions (NYR) and how to give them your best shot. I also have a few suggestions for you if you’re in a NYR quandary and looking for ideas and some support. Looe is a hive of activity behind the scenes and out of the tourist season there are plenty of clubs to join and resources to help you accomplish your NYR goals. Let me know if you decide to try a new NYR this year.

My Looe Magazine NYR

I hate running long distances. I was always useless at it in school and usually plodded in half down the field feeling as sick as a dog! I was pretty smart at the 100 metres and represented the school once or twice but the thought of cross country or a road run always filled me with dread!

So, getting to the point, my Looe magazine NYR is to get fit enough to run in the Looe Pioneers, ‘Hillish & Hellish’ cross country run on March 19th 2013!

Looe magazine Looe 10 Miler

I’m beginning to wonder whether it’s a good idea seeing as the next two months are going to fly by. But, seeing as I’ve told you about it, there’s no going back 🙁

I’ve already been out each day this week and will try to keep the momentum going until the big day. Follow my progress here on iLoveLooe, Facebook and Twitter.

Looe magazine – a bigger bumper issue

The December Christmas issue was a pretty healthy 20 pages but the January magazine is a whopping 28 pages. I think I got a little carried away in all the excitement.

Who Are You?

The ‘Who Are You?’ feature is a new interview page where I fire off a few questions to someone interesting in Cornwall.

James SheadI’m going to feature artistic, musical, creative and entrepreneurial folks in and around Cornwall and this month the interview is with talented guitarist and singer songwriter, James Shead.

James lives in Lansallos near Looe and played in both the Looe Music Festival 2011 and 2012. Check out the article to see what he has to say about his music and living in Cornwall. There are links to his YouTube, Facebook and Twitter feeds too.

Have You Been To?

‘Have You Been To?’ is another new feature in the magazine which visits local places, both well known and more obscure.

Golitha FallsThis month I visit Golitha Falls on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor. There’s a useful website link for more information and Google Map coordinates so you can plan your journey from Looe or wherever you might be staying.

Golitha is such a great place to visit and a good photography spot too.
