We’ve had some spectacular weather and clouds formations here in Looe this week. Sunshine, showers, thunder, lightning and the blackest clouds I’ve seen this side of a tin mine. Pictures of these are to come in the Looe Daily Photo, so stay tuned.
Today’s picture was taken this week on a run up West Looe Hill, which seems to be getting easier, although I still have to stop a couple of times to catch my breath.
West Looe Hill has a lovely atmosphere about it and is what most people think of as quintessentially Cornish. Houses are small, close together, white washed and quaint. I’m not sure what they’re like to live in but they look fabulous in the morning sun.
Many of the houses in West Looe are built using timbers and ballast from old ships and it’s really worth a wander if you’ve never walked up there before. Locals obviously know what I’m talking about but if you’re new to Looe, then walk down West Looe quay (by the river) and turn right when you get to the fire station. Walk past the fire station and up the hill to see the view below.
Let me know if you do and what you think of it. Cheers. Chris.
